20^th – 22^nd August, 2019, University of Calgary

The next IEAGHG Monitoring Network Meeting will be combined with the Environmental Research Network.The 3-day event will be run between August 20^th – 22^nd, at the University of Calgary and include a field trip to the CaMI Field Research site approximately 25 km southwest of Brooks, Alberta. The emphasis of this combined network meeting will be on post-closure monitoring, long-term post-injection measures as well as updates on sensing technology development, field release experiments and the environmental impacts of monitoring.Case studies of on and offshore monitoring will also be presented.This Network meeting will be immediately followed by a 1-day workshop on Faults and their significance for large-scale CO₂ Storage (please see separate listing on the IEAGHG website).

Call For Posters

Delegates planning to attend the IEAGHG Monitoring & Environmental Research Combined Network Meeting in August are invited to submit posters summarising relevant research that they are engaged in.  Research should relate to the meeting’s themes which include:

• Case Studies of real data– Offshore and Onshore CO₂ storage sites
• Developments in Sensing including Noise Monitoring and Characterisation of CO₂ storage sites
• Environmental Impacts of Monitoring CO₂ storage sites
• Lessons learned from managing field projects including controlled release projects
• Long-Term Monitoring Post-Injection for Site Closure of CO₂ storage sites
• Monitoring Post-Injection for Site Closure of CO₂ storage sites
• Monitoring for Storage with EOR compared with DSF requirements
• Uncertainty in quantification
• Up-Well Leakage
