Cost and Format

  • This event is free to attend and will be held in a hybrid format; there will be in-person and online options.

Agenda

The sessions will include an international project roundup; challenges and solutions to injecting COinto depleted fields; shipping and direct injection; public engagement; managing risk of potential leakage pathways and products; regulatory considerations; and interactive sessions. The full agenda will be available soon.

The reception includes light hors d’oeuvres and canapés and will take place in the Gates Memorial Library, Lamar State College Port Arthur, 1495 Lakeshore Drive, Port Arthur, TX 77641.

The field trip will depart and return to Lamar State College, Parker Multipurpose Center and includes three informational stops focusing on CO₂ capture, transport and geologic storage.

  • Depart: 9:00. Lamar State College, Parker Multipurpose Center Parking Lot
  • Stop 1: 9:30 – 10:30. ExxonMobil Green Pipeline – Beaumont Pump Station 2700 Hebert Road, Beaumont, TX (ExxonMobil)
  • Stop 2: 11:00 – 12:30. Well Logging Tools demonstration, Lamar State College (Baker Hughes)
  • Box Lunch.
  • Stop 3: 1:00 – 2:30. Modern analog for subsurface geologic storage reservoirs, Sea Rim State Park (Tip Meckel)
  • Return: 3:00. Return to Lamar State College, Parker Multipurpose Center

About the Offshore Geologic CO₂ Storage Workshop Series

This workshop series explores global developments in offshore geologic CO2 storage and shares expertise and learning on projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with organisations involved in live projects and learn about different considerations including transport, infrastructure, injection and wells, business models, working with other seabed users, monitoring, environmental aspects, stakeholder engagement and the legal and regulatory environment.
