The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEAGHG) has established itself internationally as principal and co-organiser of several influential conferences on carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS). These include the Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT) conference series and the Post-Combustion Capture Conference (PCCC) series.

IEAGHG is now co-organising the Eighth Post-Combustion Capture Conference (PCCC-8). We are pleased to inform you that PCCC-8 will take place in Marseille, France, from 16–18 September 2025.

The event is anticipated to attract around 200-250 attendees and will appeal to academic, industry and government professionals operating at the heart of post-combustion capture development and deployment. In addition to the latest developments in post-combustion capture, we will hear reports from the major international capture test centres, from demonstration facilities, as well as from commercial CCS plants currently in operation.

Key dates to diary – call for abstracts will open early February 2025 and close 1st April 2025 with authors notified before the end of May 2025 – details of specific areas to submit work to announced early New year.

PCCC-8 is a not-for-profit conference and therefore we aim to keep our delegate fees affordable.  ‘Early bird’ registration will open early June 2025 with both student and full delegate fees. Costs cover the 3 days of the conference, all catering during the conference as well as a welcome reception prior to the conference and gala dinner in the Marseille palais dela Bourse ( fee prices to be announced)

Registration

The PCCC-8 conference is a not for profit event and therefore we try to keep our prices both affordable and to include social activities.

Early bird registration will open on 1st June 2025 with standard delegate fees of £650 GBP including tax and £299 for students. Payment is by credit card only – Mastercard and Visa accepted. Fees will increase to the full price on 1st July 2025 to £750 and £350 for students. The fee covers full access to the program agenda which will consist of a 3 day , two stream oral presentations and keynote speakers, plus tabletop exhibition and poster area – all catering throughout conference program.

Social activities include invitation to the welcome drinks and networking on Monday 15th September ( drinks and snacks included) and hosted dinner on Wednesday 17th September at the Palais de la Bourse ( drinks,3 course dinner and entertainment included)

Abstract Submissions

Listed below are the seven themes that will underpin the content of the 8th Post Combustion Capture Conference (PCCC-8). Detailed below each theme is a breakdown describing the areas we anticipate will most likely be covered by that theme. Select the main theme most relevant to the abstract you are submitting.

All work must be submitted using the PCCC-8 abstract template which will shortly be available from this web page. Abstracts, including any diagrams and references, are expected to total no more than 1‑2 pages in length.

Please note that once the abstract is submitted all communication will take place via the Submitting author. If selected for presentation (oral or poster), the Submitting author will be required to confirm the name of the Presenter. Note: The default position is that the Submitting author is also the Presenter. Only if this is not the case is confirmation of the Presenter’s name required.

Information on when and how to submit abstracts will be made available here once the call for abstracts opens early February 2025. Check back here to stay updated or subscribe to our mailing list for the latest IEAGHG news
