Well GHGT-12 has well and truly kicked off in style in sunny Austin, Texas. The Welcome Reception was held this evening at the Austin Convention Center and attended by the majority of the conference delegates. Gary Rochelle (The University of Texas at Austin) opened the conference by welcoming all to the city and introduced his co-host, John Gale from IEAGHG, who expressed his excitement for the week ahead.

The crowds were entertained by stilt walkers, traditional dancers, singers, music from authentic mariachis, magicians and a string quartet! We were all truly spoiled by some fantastic local talent.

A fantastic evening was had by all. Here’s to yet another successful conference – the biggest gathering of CCS experts in the world!
