Lydia webAs part of the Risk Assessment session held at GHGT-13, Scott Frailey from the Illinois State Geological Survey spoke about the issues surrounding the variety of techniques currently used to calculate storage resource and their associated uncertainties. He announced that The Society of Petroleum Engineers CCS Technical Section is forming a multi‐society committee to develop a unified classification system for storage estimates. This will be called the Storage Resource Management System (SRMS) and will aim to produce a unified classification system to allow a global storage capacity estimates to be calculated in the future with the objective of giving further assurance to stakeholders. The SRMS will be developed alongside the current Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS) allowing a fully unified classification system.
