IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme

Sian cropThe GHGT-12 call for papers has now closed. We are very pleased to have received some 1174 abstracts for the conference. Very close to the number we received at GHGT-11 in 2012.  This number of abstracts indicates research on CO2 mitigation and CCS in particular is still well funded and that the research activities have been maintained. We look forward with interest to the new developments on this research area that will be presented in Austin at GHGT-12 in October 2014. The abstracts will now go out to be peer reviewed, each one by two reviewers, before coming back to the Technical Programme Committee for final selection and arrangement into sessions. To assist with the reviews, we have enlisted and army 135 experts who have all given their time to help us ensure delivery of the best technical programme possible.  Submitting authors will be notified on the 2nd May on the status of their abstract. There will again be seven parallel session throughout the four days in order for us to accommodate almost 400 papers as oral presentations. The dedicated poster session has seen a leap in popularity, both with presenters and delegates offering an opportunity to view approximately 600 posters over 4 hours. We are always looking to improve how we engage with our attendees and presenters. This year we are planning to include the ‘Poster in my pocket’ app provided by Elsevier, making it possible to view and download posters to mobile devices ahead of the conference to enhance the poster session experience.
