About the Offshore Workshop

The 8th International Workshop on Offshore Geological CO2 storage will explore global developments in offshore geologic CO₂ storage and share expertise and learning on projects.

This will be a hybrid meeting with in-person and online options available with registrations opening in January 2026. In-person attendance is capped at 100 persons.

Presentations are by invitation, but if you would like to present a poster, please get in touch with nicola.clarke@ieaghg.org.

Workshop Details

  • The 2-day workshop will take place on 20th and 21st of April 2026.
  • For virtual attendees, the joining links will be sent out a week prior.
  • Includes the popular projects roundup session, and other topical sessions including basin scale management, reservoir & injectivity, monitoring solutions, social licence, regulatory developments and commercial aspects of offshore CO2 storage projects. There will be a chance to view the core from a CCS appraisal well.
  • Workshop dinner: Monday 20th April.

Field Trip

The workshop includes a field trip to visit the prestigious Northern Lights CO2 storage project on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026. Capped at 100 persons.

Itenerary

  • Buses depart Bergen city centre at 8am
  • The visit will include a technical seminar, Q&A and tour from 9am-12pm
  • Lunch and return to Bergen by 2pm (optional transfer to airport)

Logistics

The Equinor offices are close to the airport, and a 20 minute taxi or 30 minute tram or bus ride from downtown Bergen. There is a wide range of accommodation to suit your needs, either close to the airport/venue or located downtown.
