About the Offshore Workshop

This workshop series, co-organised by the IEAGHG and the Gulf Coast Carbon Centre, celebrates 10 years of international collaboration and knowledge sharing. We are delighted to bring you an agenda that explores the latest global developments in offshore geologic CO2 storage and an opportunity to share learnings and challenges with international experts, in the beautiful city of Bergen.

Workshop Details

  • The 2-day workshop will take place on 20th and 21st of April 2026.
  • For virtual attendees, the joining links will be sent out a week prior.
  • Includes the popular projects roundup session, and other topical sessions including basin scale management, reservoir & injectivity, monitoring solutions, social licence, regulatory developments and commercial aspects of offshore CO2 storage projects. There will be a chance to view the core from a CCS appraisal well.
  • Workshop dinner: Monday 20th April.

Field Trip

The workshop includes a field trip to visit the prestigious Northern Lights CO2 storage project on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026. Full details to follow. Please note that this trip is capped at 60 people.

Itinerary

  • Buses depart Bergen city centre at 8am
  • The visit will include a technical seminar, Q&A and tour from 9am-12pm
  • Lunch and return to central Bergen by 2pm

Logistics

The Equinor offices are close to the airport, and a 20 minute taxi or 30 minute tram or bus ride from downtown Bergen. There is a wide range of accommodation to suit your needs, either close to the airport/venue or located downtown.
