Advance your career and elevate your expertise in Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) by participating in the IEAGHG’s prestigious International CCS Summer School 2025 – the forefront of CCS education with a truly global perspective.

The next Summer School is returning to the International CCS Knowledge Centre, Regina, Canada. This ever-popular location is chosen once again due to the Centre’s excellent facilities, a vast pool of local CCS experts, and its close proximity to SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Power Station, the world’s first power station to install a full-scale CCS facility on a coal power station – a tour of which will be included in the exciting programme.

Over the week-long course, you will delve into every facet of the CCUS value chain. This includes topics such as capture, transportation, and storage of CO2, industrial uses of CO2, costs and economics of CCS, regulations, policy, GHG accounting, public communication, health and safety, and much more.

The Summer School comes with no attendance fees; accommodation and food expenses are covered by our generous hosts and sponsors. However, students are expected to cover their own travel expenses and associated visa fees.

Who can apply?

The IEAGHG International Summer School invites applications from young scientists and researchers, including PhD or Masters students with backgrounds in engineering, geo-technologies, or socio-economics. Early-career professionals, within 10 years of graduation who are seeking a deeper understanding of CCS, are also encouraged to apply.
