Webinar Details

In this webinar, we take a deep dive into IEAGHG’s new study ‘Air Quality Implications of Post-Combustion Capture in Industrial Processes’ and explore some of its key findings. This study qualifies and, where possible, quantifies the impact of carbon capture and storage (CCS) with respect to gaseous pollutant emissions from non-power industrial sources.  Particular emphasis is placed on amine-based liquid scrubbing processes, as these represent the most advanced option for near-term commercial deployment.

Carried out by a team of independent experts from Imperial College London, led by Professor Paul Fennell, this study compares baseline emissions from representative cement, iron and steel, and refining facilities with the emissions expected once capture is integrated. It also includes a gap analysis to identify underexplored research areas and investigates potential synergies between existing air-pollution control technologies and CCS systems.
