The SMART-CDR Competition, part of the Mission Innovation Carbon Dioxide Removal Mission, is a new opportunity for students from around the world to propose innovative solutions for monitoring, verification, and reporting of C02 removal and compete to gain global recognition, participate in a global CDR conference, and win cash prizes.  

17 June – Ribbon Cutting At CWLP Carbon Capture Project In Illinois

Springfield, Illinois took a significant step forward in capturing carbon emissions from power plants this week. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the near completion of a major carbon capture project at City, Water, Light & Power (CWLP).

14 June – MWCEP receives Declaration of Greenhouse Gas Storage Formation for Cliff Head CO2 Storage Project

Pilot Energy Limited is pleased to announce that the WA 31-L joint venture’s application to Declare a Greenhouse Gas Storage Formation has been approved by the Commonwealth Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia, the Hon Madeleine King MP.

11 June – Carbon Capture Market Size to Grow USD 6.89 Billion by 2030 at a CAGR of 6.6%

The global market for Carbon Capture was estimated to be worth USD 4.41 Billion in 2023 and is forecast to a readjusted size of USD 6.89 Billion by 2030 with a CAGR of 6.6% during the forecast period 2024-2030.
